ZARIOT is delighted to be announced the Gold Winner of the Future Digital Smart Cities & Innovation Award for eSIM Innovation of the Year.
The Future Digital Awards recognise organisations that have made outstanding contributions to their industry and are positioned to make a significant impact in the future.
The Smart Cities & Innovation category celebrates the most groundbreaking and impactful solutions in the smart cities and IoT spaces operating across numerous areas, including IoT security, edge computing, private cellular networks and urban mobility.
ZARIOT’s entry describes our innovative use of the SIM file system to store applets that secure and advance IoT projects. For example, our IoT Trust solution, developed with our partner Atsign, provides full end-to-end data encryption and control from device to core application and beyond.
The Atsign technology was uniquely developed to ensure data privacy through authentication and encryption and to shift the control of the data to the data owner.
ZARIOT SIM expertise leverages the huge potential of eUICC technology to store the cryptographic keys on the SIM, which acts as a tamper-resistant root of trust. Another SIM applet we offer is our patented anti-IMSI catcher which protects SIMs from becoming the victims of an IMSI catcher, which can present a significant threat.
Dawood Ghalaieny, ZARIOT CEO, commented ‘This win does not only recognise ZARIOT’s innovative use of the SIM file system, but it also highlights the important need to consider IoT as an ecosystem. ZARIOT is security driven and aims to simplify the deployment and long-term management of cellular IoT devices. We continue to use our SIM and connectivity expertise to secure and drive overall IoT solution goals and success.
The full potential of IoT to enable and grow the smart city can only be realised by user trust. Trust can only be achieved through comprehensive security. As IoT grows exponentially, the data generated by devices will increase dramatically and will play a more central role in informing smart city decisions and solutions. ZARIOT innovates to deliver unrivalled flexibility, support and security for the lifetime of smart city cellular IoT projects, and to ensure full data privacy for citizens.
